Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolkata for an Embroidery Digitizer. The Embroidery Digitizer will convert design concepts, sketches, or reference images into precise digital embroidery files using specialized digitizing software. Daily tasks include planning stitch types, densities, and sequences; assigning thread colors; and optimizing designs for various fabrics and embroidery machines. The role requires testing sample runs on machines, adjusting files to improve quality and efficiency, and ensuring designs are production-ready. The Embroidery Digitizer will collaborate with designers, production staff, and quality teams to align designs with brand standards, manage file libraries, and meet production timelines.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with embroidery digitizing software (such as Wilcom, Tajima DG/ML, or similar tools) and basic graphic design tools.
- Strong understanding of stitches, thread types, fabric behavior, and machine embroidery techniques.
- Attention to detail, accuracy in design translation, and ability to troubleshoot embroidery quality issues.
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work with design and production teams on-site in Kolkata.
- Prior experience in embroidery digitizing for apparel, preferably in sarees or ethnic wear, is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple design projects, prioritize tasks, and meet production deadlines.
- Basic computer literacy, file management skills, and familiarity with production workflows in a textile or garment environment.
- A diploma, certificate, or relevant training in fashion design, textile design, or embroidery technology is a plus.
