Role Description
We are seeking a Embedded Systems Engineer with hands-on experience to lead the development of our next-generation on-site inventory automation hardware.
In this role, you will design and build embedded systems that track what inventory exists, how much is available, and how it moves—across both high-value (Class A) and bulk / heavy (Class C) industrial materials. You will work extensively with multiple sensors, embedded firmware, and device-to-cloud communication, tightly integrated with our Golang backend platform.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building real-world hardware systems that work reliably in harsh industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded systems for on-site industrial inventory tracking.
- Integrate and calibrate multiple sensors (load cells, proximity, optical, ultrasonic, RFID, etc.) to track quantity, weight, and usage of materials stored in containers, bins, or barrels.
- Build systems capable of handling heavy, bulk materials as well as high-value precision inventory.
- Develop robust firmware for microcontrollers, focusing on reliability, accuracy, and power efficiency.
- Implement secure and reliable device-to-cloud communication with a Golang-based backend (MQTT/HTTP/WebSockets).
- Own end-to-end hardware lifecycle: schematics, PCB design, prototyping, testing, deployment, and iteration.
- Work closely with backend and operations teams to ensure seamless data flow and real-world usability.
- Troubleshoot sensor inaccuracies, environmental noise, and on-site deployment issues.
- Contribute to hardware architecture decisions and long-term platform scalability.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in embedded systems development in real-world deployments.
- Strong experience with microcontrollers, embedded C/C++, and firmware debugging.
- Hands-on experience working with multiple sensor types, especially weight-based and volume-based measurement systems.
- Experience designing systems for industrial environments (dust, vibration, temperature variation, power instability).
- Understanding of inventory tracking challenges across different material classes (precision vs bulk).
- Experience integrating embedded devices with cloud/backend systems (preferably Golang-based).
- Ability to take ownership from concept to on-site deployment.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and comfort working on hardware + software boundaries.
Nice to Have
- Experience with industrial IoT, VMI systems, or on-site automation.
- PCB design and hardware validation experience.
- Familiarity with power management and low-power design.
- Prior experience deploying systems at customer or factory sites.
