Key Responsibilities
- Perform embedded software and platform testing in collaboration with the development team to ensure stable software releases.
- Design and maintain test plans, test cases, and QA documentation based on platform software requirements.
- Conduct hands-on testing of embedded devices and boards, including Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or similar microcontroller-based platforms.
- Work extensively in Linux environments, including file and directory management, networking, log monitoring, shell usage, and system diagnostics.
- Develop test automation scripts using Python to improve test coverage and efficiency.
- Perform board-level validation testing, including device boot validation, firmware verification, peripheral testing, and hardware–software interaction testing.
- Identify, log, and track software defects using JIRA, ensuring proper follow-up until resolution.
- Work closely with developers to reproduce issues, validate fixes, and ensure release readiness.
- Analyze system logs and hardware responses to identify root causes of failures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including firmware, hardware, and support teams to resolve issues.
Required Skills
- 7+ years of experience in embedded software or platform testing.
- Hands-on experience with embedded hardware platforms such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or similar microcontrollers.
- Strong knowledge of Embedded Linux environments.
- Experience with Linux commands, system logs, networking, and shell operations.
- Proficiency in Python scripting and test automation.
- Experience with JIRA or similar defect tracking tools.
- Understanding of embedded system architecture and hardware–software interaction.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
