Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Chennai for an Embedded Hardware Engineer (3–4+ years experience).
The role involves designing, developing, and testing electronic hardware and circuits for cutting-edge medical devices. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing electronic circuits and PCB layouts
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (firmware, mechanical, QA)
- Performing hardware prototyping, validation, and testing
- Troubleshooting and debugging hardware issues
- Ensuring compliance with medical device standards and regulatory requirements
- Supporting product lifecycle from concept to production
The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to the innovation and quality of vTitan's product offerings in the critical care space.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 3–4+ years of hands-on experience in embedded hardware, preferably in safety-critical or regulated systems
- Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout using modern EDA tools such as Xpedition Designer, Altium Designer, or Cadence Allegro
- Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, including component selection and PCB stack-up
- Solid understanding of circuit design principles including:
Signal processing
Power management
Communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB)
- Experience in performing circuit simulations using tools such as PSpice or equivalent
- Hands-on experience in hardware testing, debugging, and prototype validation using lab equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer, etc.)
- Experience with design verification and validation (DV & V) including:
Electrical testing
EMC/EMI testing
Safety testing
- Familiarity with medical device standards and regulations:
IEC 60601-1 (Electrical Safety)
IEC 60601-1-2 (EMC/EMI)
ISO 13485 (Quality Management)
ISO 14971 (Risk Management)
DFM (Design for Manufacturability)
DFT (Design for Testability)
- Ability to create detailed documentation and maintain design traceability for FDA compliance
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and logical thinking
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering or related field
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
