Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Embedded Hardware Engineer at our location in Pune Division. The Embedded Hardware Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing hardware systems that conform to Aerospace DO254 standards. Day-to-day tasks include hardware development, circuit design, and creating robust electronics hardware solutions to support aerospace applications. Collaboration across teams and adhering to regulatory requirements will form a critical part of this role.
As a cornerstone of our Pune hardware engineering team, you will drive the design, development, and certification of safety-critical embedded hardware. You will ensure that all hardware artifacts are compliant with DO-254 (Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware) and meet the environmental rigors of DO-160G.
Key Responsibilities
1. Hardware Design & DO-254 Compliance- Lead the end-to-end hardware development life cycle (HBDL) in accordance with DO-254 (DAL A/B).
- Architect complex digital and analog circuits, focusing on SoC/FPGA integration, power supply units (PSU), and high-speed communication interfaces.
- Manage DO-330 tool qualification processes for hardware design and verification tools used within the project.
2. Environmental & EMI/EMC Design (DO-160)- Design hardware to survive extreme conditions including temperature, vibration, and power transients as per DO-160G.
- Conduct pre-compliance testing for EMI/EMC and Lightning Induced Transients.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers on thermal management and ruggedized packaging.
3. Verification & Validation (V&V)- Author Hardware Verification Plans (HVP) and Procedures (HVP).
- Lead board-bring-up, hardware-software integration, and formal verification testing.
- Perform Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis to ensure robust performance.
4. Certification & Audits- Prepare lifecycle artifacts for Stage of Involvement (SOI) audits (SOI#1 to SOI#4).
- Justify design decisions and verification results to certification authorities or DERs.
- Conduct FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and Reliability analysis (MTBF).
Technical Skills Required- Certification Standards: Mastery of DO-254, DO-160, and DO-330.
- Design Tools: Proficiency in Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or Mentor Graphics.
- FPGA/ASIC: Experience in VHDL/Verilog and FPGA-based hardware design.
- Interfaces: Expertise in ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, AFDX, CAN, PCIe, and Ethernet.
- Analysis: Strong skills in static timing analysis, power analysis, and circuit simulation (PSpice/LTSpice).
Qualifications- B.E./B.Tech or M.Tech in Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 5+ years (Senior) to 15 years (Lead) of hands-on experience in avionics hardware.
- Expertise in Hardware Development and Electronics Hardware Design
- Significant experience in Circuit Design and Computer Hardware
- Experience with Aerospace DO254 standards and requirements
- Proficiency in hardware testing and validation methodologies
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, on-site work environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of related software and hardware tools is a plus
