Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled Embedded Firmware Engineer with 2–5 years of experience to design and develop firmware for embedded systems used in power electronics and EV charging applications. The role involves developing real-time firmware for microcontroller-based systems, working closely with hardware engineers, and supporting system bring-up and debugging. Experience in EV chargers, power converters, or energy storage systems will be a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities & Skills
• Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for microcontroller-based systems.
• Develop firmware for power electronics applications such as EV chargers, DC-DC converters, inverters, and battery systems.
• Implement communication protocols such as CAN, Modbus, UART, SPI, I2C, and Ethernet.
• Develop control algorithms and system logic for real-time applications.
• Work closely with hardware engineers during PCB bring-up and debugging.
• Perform firmware testing, debugging, and validation using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers.
• Support integration with higher-level systems such as BMS, EMS, and cloud connectivity.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for firmware architecture and interfaces.
• Optimize firmware for performance, reliability, and low power consumption.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics / Electrical / Embedded Systems / Instrumentation / Computer Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in embedded firmware development.
• Strong programming skills in C / Embedded C.
• Experience with ARM Cortex, TI, STM32, NXP, or similar microcontrollers.
• Good understanding of RTOS-based firmware development (FreeRTOS or similar).
• Experience with debugging tools (JTAG, SWD, GDB).
• Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, UART, SPI, I2C).
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Experience working on EV chargers (AC or DC fast chargers).
• Familiarity with OCPP protocol for EV charging infrastructure.
• Experience with power electronics control systems.
• Exposure to battery management systems (BMS).
• Knowledge of ISO 15118, CCS, CHAdeMO, or GB/T charging standards.
• Understanding of safety and compliance requirements in EV charging systems.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum software development life-cycle.
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• An ability to achieve targets while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
• An ability to monitor social, industrial and academic developments of technology and develop technology development plans.
