Job Title: Embedded Firmware Developer
Experience: 0–3 years
Location: Bangalore (On-site)
About Project Mirage
Project Mirage is a stealth-mode AI + hardware startup founded in 2025, focused on rethinking how humans interact with technology. We're building next-generation AI-powered interfaces that move beyond touchscreens.
The team includes experienced engineers and product designers with a strong track record of building and shipping consumer hardware products at scale. Project Mirage operates across San Francisco and Bangalore and is in an early, fast-moving phase of product and brand building.
Role Overview
We are a fast-paced consumer electronics startup looking for an Embedded Firmware Developer who thrives on rapid prototyping, low-power optimization, and building the future of wearable and connected technology. This isn’t a “maintenance” job - you will be designing, tinkering, and shipping real products from the ground up.
What You'll Own
- Rapid Prototyping (Quick POCs): Turn wild ideas into functional hardware proof-of-concepts within days.
- Firmware Architecture: Write clean, efficient C/C++ code for bare-metal systems and RTOS-based architectures.
- Low-Power & Wireless Magic: Optimize power consumption for small-battery wearables and implement robust Bluetooth/BLE communication.
- Hardware Bring-Up: Interface with microcontrollers (STM32, ESP32), displays, sensors, and build slick embedded GUIs using LVGL.
- Test & Automate: Fire up the oscilloscope or multimeter to debug hardware, and write Python/Shell scripts to automate testing frameworks.
- Collaborate & Version Control: Utilize VS Code and GitHub to manage codebase lifecycle and collaborate with the team.
Requirements
- 0 to 3 years of experience (Freshers with a strong portfolio of personal projects/hackathons are highly encouraged to apply!).
- Solid grasp of C/C++, Python, and Shell Scripting.
- Hands-on experience or deep familiarity with any ecosystem platforms like ESP32, STM32, Arduino, or Raspberry Pi, as well as industry-standard wireless silicon from Nordic Semiconductor (e.g., nRF series), Texas Instruments (TI), or Qualcomm.
- You know your way around a lab. You can read a schematic and use a multimeter/oscilloscope to figure out why a line is dead.
- A true tinkerer. Someone passionate about consumer electronics, wearable tech, and smart gadgets.
- Ready to work out of our Bangalore office in a high-energy, collaborative team environment.
Why Join Project Mirage
- High-ownership role at an early-stage company building a new interaction paradigm
- Close collaboration with experienced product, marketing, supply chain and engineering teams
- Fast learning, real responsibility, and visible impact
- Opportunity to help shape a category-defining brand from day one
