Job Title: Lead Embedded and Edge Computing Engineer (Lidar + Vision Systems)
Location: Hinjewadi Phase 2
Salary - ₹25,000 - ₹35,000 per month

Role Overview:
We are building a LiDAR + 360° vision-based 3D mapping system and are looking for a hands on engineer to lead the hardware + edge computing stack. This role is not theoretical—you will be responsible for bringing up sensors, integrating them on embedded platforms (Jetson), and building a working product pipeline from data capture to deployment. You will work alongside a separate AI team but must understand enough ML to integrate and deploy models on edge devices.
Key Responsibilities:
System Architecture & Ownership
• Lead the design and development of edge computing architecture for LiDAR and camera-based systems
• Define end-to-end hardware-software integration from sensor input to processing, storage, and data upload
• Take complete ownership of system bring-up and overall functionality
Sensor Integration
• Integrate and work with LiDAR (preferably 3D), multi-camera/360° camera systems, and IMU/GPS modules
• Develop and manage sensor drivers, data acquisition pipelines, and synchronization mechanisms (timestamps, triggers)
Edge Computing (Core Focus)
• Develop and optimize pipelines on NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin and Linux-based embedded platforms
• Evaluate and implement real-time vs. offline processing strategies
• Optimize system performance in terms of compute utilization, memory usage, and power efficiency
Data Pipeline Development
• Build scalable modules for sensor data capture, local storage (images and LiDAR point clouds), and cloud/server upload
• Work with frameworks such as ROS/ROS2 for efficient data handling and communication
SLAM & Mapping Integration
• Integrate and experiment with LiDAR SLAM (LOAM, FAST-LIO) and Visual SLAM (ORB SLAM, VINS) techniques
• Enable generation of high-quality 3D point clouds and colorized maps
AI / ML Deployment (Support Role)
• Collaborate with the AI team to deploy and optimize machine learning models on edge devices (Jetson)
• Work with frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow; familiarity with TensorRT is an advantage
Team Leadership
• Lead and mentor a small hardware and embedded systems team
• Take ownership of hardware decisions, development timelines, and technical problem solving • Drive execution and ensure timely delivery of projects, beyond just planning and coordination
Skills Required:
Must-Have:
• 1–2 years of experience in embedded systems, robotics, or edge computing
• Strong fundamentals in Linux environments
• Hands-on experience with Jetson or similar embedded AI platforms
• Practical experience in sensor integration and hardware-software interfacing
• Proficiency in C++ and Python (Python is essential)
Strongly Preferred:
• Experience working with LiDAR sensors (e.g., Velodyne, Livox, Ouster)
• Familiarity with camera systems (USB, CSI, multi-camera setups)
• Understanding of SLAM algorithms and point cloud processing
• Experience with libraries/tools such as OpenCV, Point Cloud Library (PCL), and Open3D
Good to Have:
• Experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or real-time systems
• Knowledge of multi-sensor fusion techniques
• Exposure to GPU optimization (CUDA) and TensorRT
What Success Looks Like
• Within 3–4 months, the candidate should:
• Bring up LiDAR + camera pipeline on laptop/Jetson
• Enable data capture + storage system
• Build a basic mapping pipeline (offline or real-time)
• Lead the team towards Phase 2 prototype completion

• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid prototyping
• Strong debugging skills (hardware + software)
• Fast learner (LiDAR + mapping domain is new for many)
