Role Description This full-time, remote Email Marketing and Deliverability Infrastructure Specialist role at Orbit Interactive focuses on building, maintaining, and optimizing the technical infrastructure behind high-volume email campaigns. The specialist configures and manages email service providers (ESPs), sending domains, DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), IP warm-up plans, and authentication protocols to ensure strong deliverability performance. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring inbox placement and sender reputation, analyzing deliverability metrics, troubleshooting delivery issues, and implementing best practices to reduce spam complaints and bounces. The role also involves collaborating with marketing, product, and engineering teams to align email strategy with business goals, advising on list hygiene and segmentation, and documenting processes and standards. This position requires consistent testing, data-driven recommendations, and proactive management of infrastructure to support secure, compliant, and scalable email operations.
Qualifications
- Experience with email infrastructure management, including configuration of ESPs, sending domains, IP addresses, and DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
- Proficiency in email deliverability practices, such as monitoring sender reputation, inbox placement, bounce rates, spam complaints, and implementing IP warm-up strategies.
- Knowledge of email marketing operations, including campaign setup, list hygiene, segmentation, automation workflows, and performance analysis.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL) and privacy/security best practices for email programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical logs, performance dashboards, and deliverability reports.
- Comfort working with technical tools and platforms (e.g., ESP dashboards, analytics tools, CRM systems, ticketing/issue-tracking systems).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, prioritize multiple projects, and follow documented processes with high attention to detail.
- Relevant experience in email operations, marketing technology, or marketing engineering; a degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Marketing) is beneficial but not required.
- Experience in a high-volume email sending environment or digital marketing agency is a plus, as well as industry certifications related to email marketing or deliverability.
