The Irrigation Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing irrigation systems to ensure efficient water delivery and reliable system performance. This role supports client properties and field operations by driving consistent irrigation functionality, timely issue resolution, and safe, high-quality work execution. The role operates at the field technician level and plays a key role in protecting landscape health, meeting scope requirements, and supporting strong client service outcomes.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Capabilities needed for success include:
- General knowledge of landscape maintenance operations, tools, equipment, techniques, skills, materials, and methods related to irrigation system design, installation, and maintenance
- Ability to troubleshoot irrigation issues (e.g., leaks, coverage problems, valve/controller issues) and implement repairs efficiently
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Effective listening and communication skills to understand task expectations and coordinate with supervisors, team members, clients, and vendors
- Ability to work in an organized, proactive, productive manner while maintaining professionalism and customer service
- Ability to work on Irrigation Electrical- wire tracing, using clamp meters
- Able to diagnose 2-Wire systems
- Positive attitude and resilience when faced with changing priorities or field challenges
- Valid California Driver’s License
What You’ll Do
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper coverage and efficiency
- Diagnose and resolve irrigation issues such as leaks, pressure problems, valve malfunctions, controller programming issues, and coverage gaps
- Perform irrigation electrical work, including wire tracing and testing using clamp meters
- Diagnose and service 2-Wire irrigation systems
- Read and interpret irrigation plans, blueprints, schematics, and drawings
- Coordinate with supervisors, team members, clients, and vendors to ensure work meets expectations and scope
- Maintain organized work habits, accurate repairs, and consistent quality standards
- Follow safety procedures and contribute to a professional, customer-focused job site environment
