Your Role

We are looking for an innovation and haircare brand manager to craft and develop Alberto Balsam and Timotei brands in the UK, as well as support the European business on innovation process. This role reports into the European Head of Haircare.


Exciting and fast-paced, this will be a busy and dynamic environment where you will be expected to work collectively with teams across the business to unlock the power of our brands for both consumers and customers. This is a wide encompassing role that spans a large marketing spectrum, from brand positioning and strategy adaptation, innovation, to retailer sell in. A passion for haircare and consumer understanding will be key, as we seek to lead with emotionally connecting communication and insightful functional product performance.


You will also coordinate the innovation funnel management across our European brands, contributing to the optimisation of our innovation process and leading the European & ROW innovation funnel reporting.


Responsibilities will include…

  • Brand Strategy and Positioning: Support in building long term strategy and brand positioning ensuring consistency and distinctiveness within the category.
  • Insight into Action: Together with the consumer insight lead and CCD lead, you will identify clear pain points and tensions that consumers face to both fuel innovation funnel and activation plans.
  • Innovation roadmap: You will land NPDs, renovations and NRM specific projects that will drive growth and be margin accretive to the brand.
  • Innovation process coordination: You will coordinate the smooth running of bi-weekly innovation meetings by coordinating the agendas and the update of Innovations trackers, with the help of the project leaders. You will also lead the Innovation funnel reporting during innovation meetings. You will support and help cascade innovation process optimisation and guidelines.
  • Category knowledge and brand captainship: It will be your responsibility to monitor and track brand performance in market, uncover performance root causes and address them with action plan on regular basis.
  • Financial forecasting and planning: You will need to have a base understanding of the brand P&L, ensuring that marketing planning is seamlessly linking activation to sales forecasts.
  • Retailer Planning and Activation: Working together with shopper marketing, consumer insight and commercial teams you will ensure that brand plans are considering, incorporating, and delivering against retailer feedback and strategy to ensure brilliant in-store execution. This will include thinking through NPD sell-in and how this contributes to the wider category, presenting directly to customers where required.


Your Attributes

  • 1+ year of experience working in marketing roles delivering experience in consumer understanding, communication and/or retailer/eCommerce interactions.
  • A sound understanding of the importance of consumer and business insight and how this translates into marketing strategy, planning, and execution.
  • Experience in innovation development and testing.
  • Evidence of analytical skills in reviewing data and pulling out key insights.
  • Base understanding of how the P&L is structured, along with the ability to interpret and action marketing plans against financial data.
  • Proven experience of prioritizing and organizing work across projects in a busy, dynamic working environment.
  • Experience working on beauty or personal care brands and knowledge of the UK retail mass market will be a strong advantage.
