About the role

At Elias Sports Bureau, the foremost institution in sports statistics since 1913, we help partners tell the story of sports through data, research, and technology services. We're looking for a Researcher (Night Crew) to join our established and passionate research team. In this role, you'll help ensure the accuracy and historical integrity of data across major professional sports. You'll load and cleanse data from recent games, write SQL queries to support our clients' needs, and contextualize live events within decades of league history. Our researchers work closely with leagues, media partners, and broadcasters to deliver fast, accurate, and meaningful stats — often under tight deadlines and in high-visibility environments. The team is small, collaborative, and highly tenured, with many researchers having been with Elias for 20+ years. If you're a sports expert with SQL skills and a passion for precision, this is your chance to help shape the data millions of fans rely on. This is a remote-friendly position, with evening and weekend availability required.

About the company

The Elias Sports Bureau was founded over 100 years ago as the official statisticians of the National League. Since then, Elias has grown to become official statisticians for the MLB, NBA, NFL, WNBA, MLS, and G-League. We not only work with the leagues, but with many sports networks to provide data, research, and editorial support for their broadcasts and web content. Whether you're a die-hard sports fan or casual viewer, you've likely come across our stats and insights while watching your favorite games.
