Role Description The Elevator Gearless Machine Aftersales Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The engineer will handle post-installation technical support for elevator gearless machines, including troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, performing diagnostics, and coordinating repairs and component replacements. Day-to-day activities include responding to customer service requests, conducting site visits, preparing service reports, and providing guidance to field technicians and service partners on best practices. The role also involves collaborating with design, production, and quality teams to address recurring issues, implement corrective actions, and support continuous product improvement. The engineer will maintain clear communication with customers to ensure timely resolution of issues, high service quality, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge of elevator gearless machines, electric motors, and powertrain systems, with the ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
- Experience in aftersales or field service engineering, including on-site inspections, maintenance, and repair of industrial or elevator equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and service manuals, and using standard diagnostic tools and measuring instruments.
- Solid understanding of safety standards, quality systems, and basic compliance requirements in mechanical and electrical engineering environments.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and manage customer expectations.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, including planning service schedules, prioritizing tasks, and documenting service activities accurately.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; prior experience in the elevator industry is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site in Bengaluru, travel to customer locations as required, and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
