Ignisforma is a fast-growing embedded systems and product engineering company specializing in electronics design, embedded firmware, IoT, and industrial automation solutions. We are looking for a skilled Electronics Lab Technician with strong hands-on experience in PCB assembly, soldering, rework, and prototype development to support our engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform high-quality soldering, de-soldering, and rework of electronic components on prototype and production PCBs.
· Assemble, modify, and rework PCBAs and prototype electronic products.
· Inspect solder joints and assembled boards to ensure quality and compliance with IPC workmanship standards.
· Support engineers in PCB bring-up, testing, debugging, validation, and prototype development.
· Perform component replacement and PCB rework while maintaining board integrity.
· Operate and maintain soldering stations, hot-air rework stations, microscopes, and other laboratory equipment.
· Maintain ESD-safe work practices and ensure a clean, organized laboratory environment.
· Assist in inventory management of electronic components, tools, and consumables.
· Follow engineering documentation, assembly instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
· Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in electronics PCB assembly, soldering, and rework.
· Strong hands-on experience in soldering and reworking Through-Hole (THT), Surface Mount (SMD), and leadless package components, including:
o Chip components: 1206, 0805, 0603, 0402, and 0201
o IC packages: SOIC, SOP, TSSOP, QFP/LQFP, and QFN/DFN
o Fine-pitch ICs, connectors, FFC/FPC connectors, and other precision electronic components.
· Proficient in using:
o Temperature-controlled soldering stations
o Hot-air rework stations
o Stereo microscopes for precision soldering and inspection
· Experience with PCB rework, component replacement, microscope-assisted soldering, and ESD-safe handling practices.
· Familiarity with solder paste, flux application, de-soldering techniques, and PCB cleaning.
· Ability to read PCB layouts, assembly drawings, schematics, BOMs, and component placement files.
· Experience using basic electronic test equipment such as Digital Multimeter (DMMs), DC power supplies, and oscilloscopes for basic testing and troubleshooting.
Preferred Skills
· Experience with BGA component rework and reballing will be an added advantage.
· Knowledge of IPC-A-610 workmanship standards is desirable.
· Exposure to prototype builds, engineering validation, and NPI (New Product Introduction) activities is preferred.
Qualification
ITI or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
