KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Research, Innovation, Funded Projects, Publications, Patents & Consultancy (Primary Focus)
- Provide strategic leadership to establish and strengthen a robust research culture within the department.
- Proactively identify funding opportunities and lead the preparation and submission of research proposals to secure grants from DST, SERB, AICTE, DRDO, ISRO, MeitY, UGC, CSIR, and other national and international funding agencies as Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI).
- Drive high-quality research leading to publications in reputed SCI/Scopus-indexed journals.
- Encourage, mentor, and support faculty members and students in achieving high-quality research outcomes.
- Promote innovation leading to patents, technology transfer, and commercialization wherever feasible.
- Develop and execute consultancy projects in collaboration with industry and government organizations.
- Establish and nurture MoUs, strategic partnerships, and collaborative research initiatives with industries, R&D laboratories, IITs, NITs, and international universities.
- Organize national and international conferences, workshops, Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), seminars, and research events.
2. Academic Leadership & Teaching Excellence
- Lead curriculum design, development, and continuous revision in alignment with the AICTE Model Curriculum, university regulations, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), and emerging industry trends such as VLSI, Embedded Systems, Wireless Communication, IoT, AI/ML in ECE, and 5G/6G technologies.
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in core and advanced areas with academic excellence.
- Promote innovative pedagogical practices and the effective use of modern teaching-learning methodologies.
- Mentor faculty members in teaching effectiveness, research methodology, and professional development.
3. Administrative Leadership & Departmental Management
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the growth and academic excellence of the Electronics & Telecommunication (E&TC) Department.
- Manage and oversee all departmental activities to ensure efficient operations and foster a positive, inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance work environment that promotes teamwork, innovation, and accountability.
- Facilitate effective academic planning, faculty development, student engagement, and optimal utilization of departmental resources.
4. Quality Assurance, Accreditation & Institutional Development
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement in teaching-learning processes, research output, and student outcomes.
- Lead the department's preparation for NBA accreditation, NAAC assessment cycles, NIRF rankings, and internal quality audits, including the preparation and maintenance of SARs, SSRs, and all supporting documentation.
- Contribute actively to institutional development through participation in committees, strategic initiatives, and other responsibilities assigned by the Principal/Director.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
