Role Description The Electrical Technician is a full-time, on-site role located in Thoothukudi, responsible for supporting and maintaining electrical systems and equipment used within IT and infrastructure environments. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine electrical maintenance, inspecting and testing electrical installations, and diagnosing faults in wiring, panels, and equipment. The role involves troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues in collaboration with IT and operations teams to ensure minimal downtime and safe, continuous operation. The Electrical Technician will assist in installing new electrical components and equipment, follow safety standards and regulatory guidelines, and maintain accurate records of work performed. This position requires proactive communication, adherence to company procedures, and readiness to respond to urgent maintenance needs.
Qualifications
- Strong electrical maintenance skills, including preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems and infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of electricity fundamentals and safe electrical work practices.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical faults, diagnosing issues, and implementing effective repairs.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts as applied to practical installation, testing, and maintenance work.
- Hands-on experience with electrical equipment such as panels, circuit breakers, cabling, and related devices.
- Relevant technical diploma, ITI, or certification in Electrical or a related field; additional training in industrial or building electrical systems is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, manuals, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with safety standards, local electrical codes, and best practices for working in IT and infrastructure environments.
- Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work on-site in Thoothukudi, with flexibility for occasional extended hours or emergency call-outs as required.
