Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Electrical Technician role based in Mumbai. The Electrical Technician will perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment used in fertilizer and phosphate production facilities. Responsibilities include installing, inspecting, testing, and repairing electrical panels, motors, drives, and control systems to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation. The role involves diagnosing faults, troubleshooting breakdowns on the shop floor, and coordinating with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize work orders. The Electrical Technician will follow standard operating procedures, adhere to safety and compliance requirements, document maintenance activities, and support continuous improvement of electrical reliability across the plant.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Electrical Maintenance, including preventive and breakdown maintenance of industrial electrical systems and machinery.
- Solid understanding of Electricity fundamentals and safe electrical work practices in an industrial environment.
- Proven Troubleshooting abilities for diagnosing electrical faults in motors, drives, panels, and control circuits.
- Knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles relevant to industrial plants, including reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
- Hands-on experience working with Electrical Equipment such as transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, and instrumentation interfaces.
- Relevant technical diploma or ITI in Electrical, Electronics, or a related discipline; a degree in Electrical Engineering is an advantage.
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and use of electrical test instruments.
- Ability to work in shifts, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and respond promptly to on-site maintenance requirements.
- Previous experience in fertilizer, chemical, mining, or heavy process industries is preferred.
