- Experience – 5 to 8 years
Job Description
- Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, and schematic diagrams using Zuken
- Develop single-line diagrams, power and control circuits
- Generate BOMs (Bill of Materials), cable lists, and terminal reports
- Apply proper symbols, wire numbering, tagging, and cross-referencing
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
- Maintain electrical libraries, macros, and templates in Zuken
- Support migration or updates of electrical drawings
- Address design changes and support ECR/ECO processes
- Harness design, implementation, and maintenance in locomotive electrical designs.
- Responsible for the design and content of the locomotive electrical schematic.
- Work with electrical design, mechanical design, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues that can impact production schedules
- Development of concept design, detailed design and design analysis for mechanical routing and packaging of power cabling, control and network wiring, conduits and different electrical components on various locomotive projects
- Interactions will include engineering sub-system teams; systems engineering; drafting team and manufacturing across the global sites
- Complete design work and design analysis as required to meet design goals Write drawing change orders and interface with drafting team for layouts, detail design, drawings and change implementation
- Review and approve designs developed by customers & detailed drawings completed by drafting
Work Experience
Desired skills:
- Hands-on experience with Zuken
- Strong knowledge of electrical control panels, PLC wiring, MCCs, and power circuits
- Experience in Locomotive and Offroad vehicles
- Ability to read and interpret Instrumentation Diagrams and customer specifications
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN (added advantage)
- Exposure to factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site support
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication with cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Problem-solving and analytical mindset
