Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Electrical Estimator role based in Chennai. The Electrical Estimator will review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare accurate material and labor estimates for industrial, commercial, and residential electrical projects. The role involves conducting quantity take-offs, obtaining and analyzing vendor quotations, and preparing detailed cost breakdowns and proposals for electrical contracting works. The Electrical Estimator will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to support budgeting, bidding, and project execution, while monitoring cost variations and updating estimates as project scopes evolve. Daily responsibilities also include maintaining estimation records, supporting negotiations with clients and suppliers, and ensuring compliance with relevant electrical standards and regulations.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Electrical Estimating and Cost Control for industrial, commercial, and residential projects.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Electrical Contracting practices, including tendering, bidding, and project cost management.
- Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Electricity principles and Electrical Engineering fundamentals relevant to LV panels and control systems.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in reading electrical drawings, preparing BOQs, and using estimation or spreadsheet software.
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in estimating for industrial automation, panels, and building electrical systems is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with local electrical codes, safety standards, and TNEB procedures is an advantage.
