Job Title: Electrical Engineering Manager – HV/MV Transformer Testing & Commissioning
Location: Pan India

CTC: ₹10,00,000 – ₹12,00,000 Per Annum (Negotiable for the Right Candidate)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead the Testing, Commissioning, and Protection Engineering teams across projects in India.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the complete electrical commissioning lifecycle, from planning and installation verification to testing, protection coordination, energization, and final project handover. This role requires strong technical expertise in medium-voltage (MV) and high-voltage (HV) power systems, transformers, substations, protection relays, and switchyard commissioning, along with proven leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and manage Testing Engineers, Commissioning Engineers, and Relay Engineers across multiple projects.
• Plan manpower allocation, engineering schedules, and resource utilization to ensure timely project completion.
• Supervise all transformer testing activities, including:
- Insulation Resistance Test (IR)
- Winding Resistance Test
- Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR)
- Polarity Test
- Dielectric Testing
- Functional Performance Testing
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of testing instruments while maintaining complete traceability of test records.
• Manage all pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for transformers, substations, switchyards, and associated electrical equipment.
• Oversee interlock verification, OLTC functionality, cooling system checks, protection verification, and safe system energization.
• Review and approve commissioning procedures before final energization.
• Lead the configuration, testing, verification, and commissioning of protection relay systems including:
- Differential Protection
- Overcurrent Protection
- Earth Fault Protection
- Distance Protection (where applicable)
• Ensure seamless integration of protection systems with SCADA, control systems, and communication networks.
• Coordinate closely with project managers, clients, consultants, utility authorities, contractors, and operations teams throughout project execution.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
• Enforce strict adherence to electrical safety procedures including:
- Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO)
- Permit-to-Work (PTW)
- Earthing Procedures
- Electrical Isolation Practices
- Site Safety Standards
• Review and approve:
- Risk Assessments
- Method Statements
- Test Reports
- Inspection Records
- Punch Lists
- Commissioning Documentation
- Final Handover Packages
• Support troubleshooting activities during installation, testing, commissioning, and post-energization phases.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing quality, commissioning efficiency, and engineering standards.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering with strong exposure to MV/HV transformer installation, testing, commissioning, and protection systems.
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams for large-scale electrical infrastructure or EPC projects.

• Experience in Transformer Manufacturing, Testing & Commissioning.
• Experience in EPC Power Projects.
• Exposure to Utility, Renewable Energy, Industrial, or Transmission Projects.
• Strong understanding of protection coordination and electrical commissioning procedures.
• Willingness to travel extensively across India based on project requirements.
