Radha Smelters Pvt. Ltd. is a leading steel manufacturing company operating at Sankarampet Plant, Telangana. Our state-of-the-art Rolling Mill facility is committed to producing high-quality steel products with operational excellence, safety, and efficiency at its core. We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team and drive the electrical operations of our Rolling Mill.
The Electrical Engineer – Rolling Mill will be responsible for the end-to-end electrical operations, maintenance, and safety management of the Rolling Mill plant. The incumbent will oversee DC Motor Drives, Power Transformers, 132 KV Substation operations, and PLC systems, while providing strong technical leadership to the electrical team and ensuring seamless coordination with other departments.
1. Electrical Operations & Maintenance
• Oversee day-to-day electrical operations of the Rolling Mill plant ensuring uninterrupted production.
• Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance of all electrical systems and equipment.
• Ensure prompt troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, and compliance documentation.
2. DC Motor Drives
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot DC Motor Drive systems used across Rolling Mill stands.
• Carry out drive parameter tuning and optimization for efficient mill performance.
• Diagnose and rectify faults in drive panels, and associated control circuits.
3. Power Transformer Management
• Maintain, inspect, and test power transformers (distribution and furnace transformers).
• Conduct oil testing (BDV), insulation resistance, and tan-delta tests as per schedule.
• Coordinate with OEM/service vendors for transformer overhauling and repairs.
4. 132 KV Substation – Operation & Management
• Manage the complete operation of the 132 KV HT Substation including switching operations, load management, and fault isolation.
• Ensure compliance with DISCOM/SLDC regulations, safety procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
• Oversee maintenance of circuit breakers, isolators, CTs, PTs, relays, and protection systems.
• Coordinate with TSECPDCL / State Utility for demand management and grid compliance.
5. PLC Systems – Programming & Troubleshooting
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot PLC-based automation systems in Rolling Mill operations.
• Modify and update PLC logic/programs for process improvements and corrective actions.
• Interface with SCADA/HMI systems for real-time monitoring and control.
6. Leadership & Team Management
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of electrical technicians and junior engineers.
• Assign tasks, review work quality, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Develop the team's technical competency through training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
7. Cross-Departmental Coordination
• Collaborate closely with Production, Mechanical, Instrumentation, and Safety departments.
• Actively participate in plant shutdown planning, capital projects, and new equipment commissioning.
• Coordinate with procurement and stores for timely availability of spares and electrical materials.
8. Safety, Energy & Compliance
• Implement and enforce electrical safety standards (IS/IEC) and statutory compliances.
• Monitor energy consumption and drive energy conservation initiatives.
• Maintain statutory records and support internal/external audits.
• Drive cost control initiatives through effective monitoring and optimization of electrical consumption, maintenance expenses, and resource utilization.
• Implement and monitor power-saving systems and energy-efficient practices during daily plant operations to reduce energy losses and improve operational efficiency.
Identify opportunities for energy conservation, load optimization, and reduction in power consumption across plant activities.
