Job Summary
We are seeking a systematic and highly autonomous Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design initiatives, specifically focusing on generating drawing packages for permitting and construction. The ideal candidate is a polished technical expert who can independently manage the project lifecycle from design strategy to regulatory compliance without day-to-day supervision. You will serve as the technical lead, mentoring junior staff and ensuring all engineering services meet company, customer, and statutory specifications on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Design for Permitting & Construction
- Independently develop and document detailed electrical schematics and permit-ready packages using AutoCAD Electrical Toolset.
- Ensure all designs and installations strictly adhere to statutory and regulatory specifications required for permitting and inspections.
- Read and analyze blueprints, project manuals, and documentation to develop compliant workflows and design strategies.
- Identify and specify cables, fuses, and circuit breakers required for assigned installations to ensure code compliance and safety.
- Evaluate design information, including assembly drawings and design calculations, to prepare error-free construction documents
Project Management & Autonomous Execution
- Serve as the Project Manager and Technical Leader, managing resources and budgets for multiple projects simultaneously with minimal oversight.
- Drive the coordination of design, test, and build activities between cross-functional teams to ensure milestones are met.
- Manage commercial aspects by preparing Bills of Materials (BOM), evaluating vendors, and initiating negotiations for Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
- Coordinate directly with contractors and vendors to ensure hassle-free execution within time and budget constraints.
Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Mentor junior engineers and new hires in job-specific tasks, specifically regarding the application of electrical processes and code standards.
- Review specifications, drawings, and project manuals produced by the team to ensure quality and accuracy before submission.
- Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings directly to clients.
Qualifications
Education
- Master’s or Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering.
Required Technical Skills
- Design Software: Mastery of Autodesk AutoCAD (2D CAD) and ETAP.
- Engineering Tools: Proficiency with MATLAB and LabVIEW.
- Administrative: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Microsoft Project
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Experience with Compliance & Certification (NEC Code, UL, IEC)
