The Role
We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing basic and detailed engineering activities for marine and offshore projects. This role offers hands-on experience in electrical system design, analysis, and project execution within the maritime and offshore domain.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic and detailed electrical engineering for different types of ships
- Prepare engineering drawings for marine and offshore applications
- Carry out electrical calculations such as load analysis, transformer sizing, battery calculations, short circuit analysis, and relay coordination
- Prepare cable routing layouts in both 2D and 3D
- Develop Material Take-Off (MTO) for electrical and instrumentation systems
- Conduct onsite inspections for upgrade and retrofit projects in the marine/offshore industry
- Assist in project planning for electrical deliverables
What You’ll Need
Experience:
- Relevant 2-4 years’ experience with required technical knowledge
Education:
- BE in Electrical Engineering
Tools & Software Proficiency:
- Microsoft Office
- 2D Software (e.g., AutoCAD, Paint, etc.)
- 3D Software
- ETAP
Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of ship electrical systems design (basic and detailed engineering)
- Ability to prepare Power SLDs and power distribution systems, including cable selection, breaker selection, relays, starter panels, and sequential logic circuits
- Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams, and prepare termination drawings, block diagrams, and single line diagrams
- Capability to perform electrical calculations including load analysis, transformer sizing, battery calculations, short circuit calculations, and relay coordination
- Good knowledge of rules and regulations
- Strong coordination skills with clients and internal teams
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Good communication skills in English (verbal and written)
