Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled Electrical Designer with experience in Oil & Gas projects, specializing in detailed engineering and design using AutoCAD. The candidate will be responsible for preparing electrical design drawings, layouts, and documentation in compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare detailed electrical design drawings using AutoCAD for Oil & Gas projects.
- Develop layouts such as:
- Cable routing layouts
- Earthing and lightning protection layouts
- Lighting layouts
- Equipment layouts
- Create and update Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and schematics.
- Prepare cable schedules, load lists, and material take-offs (MTO).
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (Mechanical, Civil, Instrumentation).
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards (IEC, SHELL DEP , NEC, etc.).
- Review vendor drawings and incorporate necessary changes.
- Maintain proper documentation and version control of drawings.
- Support project execution teams with design clarifications.
Required Skills & Qualifications:- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D is mandatory).
- Good understanding of electrical systems in Oil & Gas industry.
- Familiarity with:
- Hazardous area classifications
- Electrical equipment used in refineries/offshore/onshore plants
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (IEC, SHELL DEP, API, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Required Experience : 7 - 15 years.
- Prior experience of working in Qatar projects is a added advantage.
