Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Electrical Design Engineer role based in Chennai. The Electrical Design Engineer will design and develop electrical control panels and power distribution systems, including PCC, MCC, APFC, LT, and specialized industrial panels. Responsibilities include preparing detailed electrical drawings and schematics, selecting appropriate components, and ensuring designs meet IEC and relevant industry standards. The role involves collaborating with production, automation, and project teams to support panel fabrication, installation, and commissioning, as well as troubleshooting design-related issues during testing and on-site implementation. The Electrical Design Engineer will also contribute to cost-effective, energy-efficient solutions, support documentation and technical reports, and participate in continuous improvement of design practices and standards.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Electrical Design and Design Engineering for industrial control panels and power systems.
- Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Electrical Engineering and Electricity, including circuit design, protection, and safety standards.
- Candidates should possess experience in Power Distribution systems, including load calculations, panel layout, and coordination with upstream and downstream equipment.
- Working knowledge of relevant standards (such as IEC 61439) and industrial codes, with the ability to apply them in practical design work.
- Proficiency in electrical CAD tools and related design software for schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
- Understanding of PLCs, VFDs, and industrial automation concepts; experience in integrating control and power systems is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for documentation, coordination with cross-functional teams, and interaction with clients or vendors.
