Join Our Engineering Team in Trivandrum!
OMEGA Solutions is a UK-based engineering consultancy headquartered in Cross Hills, near Keighley, with further offices in Exeter, Stowmarket and Trivandrum, India. We specialize in low-carbon refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical and electrical engineering solutions. The company was founded in 2021 and works with clients across retail, food manufacturing, cold storage, facilities management, and energy sectors.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Trivandrum, candidates from Kerala Preferred.
This position is ideally suited for an Electrical Engineer with 2–3 years of experience in electrical design, building services, MEP, refrigeration, or related engineering fields.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering electrical designs for commercial refrigeration systems while working closely with our UK and India engineering teams.
They will work closely with both our mechanical engineering team in the UK and in India to support the delivery of safe, reliable, and energy-efficient refrigeration solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design electrical systems for commercial refrigeration applications
- Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and cable schedules
- Select and specify electrical equipment including MCCs, VSDs, PLCs, relays, sensors, circuit protection devices, and field instrumentation.
- Develop and review control philosophies and sequences of operation
- Support the integration of refrigeration plant controls with BMS systems
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and regulations including BS EN, IEC, and health & safety requirements
- Prepare technical documentation, design reports, and support project delivery

- Design risk assessments
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- 2–3 years of experience in electrical design engineering.
- Experience preparing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
- Working knowledge of electrical protection systems and control panels.
- Familiarity with PLC-based control systems and industrial automation.
- Experience using Electrical CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SEE Electrical, or equivalent).
- Good understanding of electrical design documentation and engineering standards.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable Technical Skills:
- Electrical system design, CAD Software
- Knowledge of British Electrical Standards (BS 7671, BS EN standards, and UK electrical design practices) would be a distinct advantage.
- Basic control panel design
- Understanding of PLC and automation systems
- The ability to produce technical documentation and reporting
