Job Description
BIM365 is hiring 4 Electrical BIM Modelers / Designers to work on Australian commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects. The role involves developing accurate electrical BIM models, preparing coordinated drawings, and supporting project teams with high-quality documentation as per Australian project standards.
The candidate will be responsible for creating and coordinating electrical services models in Revit, including lighting, power, communications, security, fire alarm, containment, cable trays, conduits, and equipment layouts. The role requires close coordination with architecture, structure, mechanical, hydraulic, and fire services teams to deliver clash-free and construction-ready BIM outputs.
Qualifications & Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Develop electrical BIM models in Revit for Australian projects.
Prepare electrical layouts, containment routes, cable trays, conduits, lighting, power, ELV, communications, security, and fire alarm drawings.
Work on federated BIM models and coordinate with other disciplines.
Perform model checking and support clash detection using Navisworks or BIM coordination tools.
Prepare shop drawings, coordination drawings, and documentation as per project requirements.
Follow BIM standards, project templates, naming conventions, and model setup requirements.
Coordinate with internal BIM leads and design teams to resolve technical issues.
Maintain model accuracy, discipline coordination, and timely project delivery.
Support Australian commercial building projects with practical constructability understanding.
Required Skills & Experience:
Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering, BIM, or relevant technical field.
Minimum 1–4 years of experience in Electrical BIM Modeling or Electrical Design.
Good working knowledge of Autodesk Revit MEP.
Knowledge of electrical systems such as lighting, power, cable trays, conduits, communications, security, fire alarm, and containment.
Basic understanding of Australian electrical project standards and documentation will be preferred.
Experience in commercial, residential, hospital, education, or mixed-use building projects.
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, architectural plans, and services coordination drawings.
Experience with Navisworks clash detection will be an advantage.
Good coordination skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
Good communication skills and willingness to work on international projects.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in Australian BIM projects.
Knowledge of BIM coordination workflows.
Understanding of ISO 19650, BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud is a plus.
Experience preparing shop drawings and coordinated services drawings.
