Role Description The Electrical BIM Modeler is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for developing and managing detailed electrical Building Information Modeling (BIM) models for various projects. Day-to-day tasks include creating and updating coordinated electrical models, preparing and interpreting construction drawings, and collaborating closely with MEP engineers, architects, and other design team members to resolve clashes and maintain design accuracy. The role involves ensuring that models comply with project standards and codes, integrating electrical layouts with overall MEP and architectural models, and supporting project documentation and deliverables. The Electrical BIM Modeler will also assist in implementing BIM best practices, maintaining model integrity throughout the project lifecycle, and supporting project teams with timely updates and revisions.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools and workflows, with experience creating and managing detailed electrical models.
- Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems and their coordination within multi-disciplinary project environments.
- Ability to read, interpret, and produce accurate construction drawings aligned with project specifications and industry standards.
- Understanding of architectural concepts and how electrical systems integrate with architectural and structural designs.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
- Experience with BIM software such as Revit or similar platforms; familiarity with CAD tools is an advantage.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional project teams.
- Prior experience as a BIM Modeler or in a similar role within the construction or engineering industry is preferred.
