EDUCATION:
Graduation from a recognized college or university with an applicable Associate's Degree in Applied Science, equivalent certificate from trade school or completion of equivalent apprenticeship program; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
New Mexico EE-98, EE-98J Master Electrician or Journeyman Electrician's Residential/Commercial Electrical License.
Master Electricians License from the State Texas
NM Electrical Contractor License preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
TX Electrical Contractor License preferred or ability to obtain with in 6 months.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1.Ten (10) years related experience with an electrical contractor.
2. Proficient knowledge and skills in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams and trace control circuits and adhering to the National Electric Code (NEC).
3. Proficient mechanical aptitude and background and good manual dexterity.
4. Proficient knowledge and skills in utilizing all electrical testing equipment.
5. Applies mastery of skill in area of specialization. May adapt procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs.
6. Valid driver's license and must comply with the El Paso Electric Driving Policy.
7. Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters.
8. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
9. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with officers, managers, fellow employees, representatives of other utilities, outside consultants and the public.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The following functions are accomplished utilizing various hand tools and equipment. Duties and tasks reflect substantial variety and complexity. Serves as a resource to others for resolving complex problems and issues. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned goals.
1. Performs installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, wiring, and equipment in compliance with all applicable local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
2. Performs new equipment installations such as motors, ATS’s, Genset units, UPS systems, EV Chargers, and power circuits for HVAC systems.
3. Run and overseeing electrical projects from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating with other trades/departments.
4. Performs re-wiring for code compliance, such as upgrades, equipment replacements, lighting etc.
5. Performs upgrades to building systems such as ADA door operators and control systems.
6. Performs LOTO on electrical systems as required.
7. Repairs, installs, replaces faulty switches, sockets and other elements of electrical systems and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances at Company facilities.
8. Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment using testing instruments.
9. Inspects equipment and diagnoses trouble.
10. Dismantles electrical equipment and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes and diagram specifications.
11. Performs all work with adherence to safety procedures and code specifications.
12. Inspects completed work and ensures that work conforms with requirements of local building and safety codes.
13. Accountable for direct expenses as in labor and material.
14. May orient, train, assign and check the work of lower-level employees.
15. Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures and code of ethics as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations to include employment, safety and environmental standards and regulations.
