Role Description The EHS Executive is a full-time, on-site role based at the Chennai location. This role is responsible for implementing and monitoring environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and standards across the manufacturing facility. Day-to-day tasks include conducting safety inspections and audits, identifying and mitigating workplace hazards, and ensuring compliance with local and national EHS regulations. The EHS Executive will organize safety trainings, toolbox talks, and awareness programs, as well as maintain records related to incidents, risk assessments, and corrective actions. The role also involves coordinating emergency preparedness drills, overseeing waste management and pollution control measures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices relevant to manufacturing environments.
- Experience conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
- Ability to develop, implement, and update EHS policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Skills in maintaining EHS documentation, reporting compliance data, and preparing audit-related reports.
- Experience in waste management, pollution control, and environmental monitoring within an industrial setting.
- Effective communication and training skills to engage the workforce and promote a safety-focused culture.
- Ability to collaborate with production, maintenance, HR, and management teams to drive EHS initiatives.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in EHS, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant EHS or safety certifications (such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in an automotive or electrical/electronic manufacturing facility is preferred.
