About the Department

Under the direction of the Director, School Improvement & Educational Leadership, the Learning Improvement Coordinator supports the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of regional teaching and learning improvement efforts across ESD 112.  This role advances coherent systems and practices that improve educator practice and student outcomes across partner districts.

For the 26-27 school year, this position will play a key role in supporting the ESD 112 Regional Math Initiative.

Salary: 
The full salary range will be $114,732.80 - $139,588.80. Offers are made at the beginning of the range.

Position Duties

Essential Functions:

  1. Co-design and facilitate high-quality, content-specific professional learning aligned to regional priorities and district need, with an emphasis on improving instruction and student outcomes.
  2. Lead and support networked improvement communities for teacher leaders, instructional coaches, and school leaders to strengthen shared practice across districts.
  3. Partner with district and school teams to design and implement site-based supports, including facilitated support for school improvement, through learning labs, instructional rounds, short-cycle improvement efforts and other activities.
  4. Support districts and teams in collecting, analyzing, and applying multiple sources of data—including student, instructional, and perception data—to inform continuous improvement and root cause analysis.
  5. Promote and support the implementation of research-based frameworks   (e.g. Multi-tiered Systems of Support, Universal Design for Learning, Sheltered Instruction, Inclusionary Practices etc.) for the purpose of improving educational justice and school improvement efforts.  
  6. Build strong, collaborative relationships across diverse district contexts, facilitating cross-district learning and coherence of instructional practices.
  7. Maintain regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Other Functions:
  1. Contribute as a member of the Teaching and Learning Team to the design, implementation and evaluation of new and existing regional initiatives.
  2. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
  2. Experience as a classroom teacher.  
  3. Five years of experience as an instructional coach, teacher mentor or building administrator. 
  4. Experience supporting school improvement efforts.
  5. Experience in the use of Washington State Learning standards, research-based instructional strategies and assessment practices that support effective instruction.
  6. Experience delivering and developing professional learning in research-based instructional practices; experience managing workshops and special events.
  7. Experience in leadership in school reform and/or effective educational practices at all levels (local/regional/state).
  8. Experience working collaboratively with teams, schools or across districts.

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Masters Degree in education.  
  2. Hold or be eligible to hold a Washington State administrator certificate.

Other Qualifications

Working Conditions:

  1. Frequent travel within the ESD 112 region and the state. Occasional out-of-state travel. Some overnight travel required.
  2.  Extended or flexible hours as necessary.
  3. Some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity.
Employment Requirements:
  1. Successful completion of a criminal records and fingerprint background check.
