Hiring: Video Editor (Educational Filmmaking Content) | Mumbai
I'm looking for a Mumbai-based video editor to edit the first course for my filmmaking education platform, Cynopsis.
This is long-form educational content, not a YouTube vlog or reel. The objective is to make filmmaking concepts engaging, visually rich, and extremely easy to understand.
Project Details:
- Total footage: ~5 hours
- Divided into 7 chapters (15–45 minutes each)
- Timeline: 7–10 days
- Compensation: ₹6,000
What You'll Be Editing:
The course primarily consists of a talking-head instructor, enhanced with:
- Motion graphics
- After Effects animations
- Dynamic text animations
- Film clips and scene breakdowns
- Images, graphics, diagrams, and visual references
- Background music and basic sound design
- Basic color grading across the entire project (nothing highly advanced, but a good understanding of color correction and grading is required)
- Clean pacing and rhythm to keep educational content engaging throughout
The rough edit is already done. I've already created the base timeline for the entire course, so you won't be editing from scratch. The timeline mainly consists of the instructor's talking-head footage. Your role will be to refine the pacing where required and elevate the content by adding motion graphics, text animations, film examples, visual references, transitions, music, sound design, and all the creative elements that make the lessons engaging and easy to understand.
The editing style should feel similar to StudioBinder—cinematic, minimal, educational, and visually driven rather than flashy.
Skills Required:
- Strong command of Adobe Premiere Pro
- Working knowledge of After Effects
- Motion graphics and text animation
- Basic color grading and color correction
- Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and educational editing
- Understanding of filmmaking and film language (preferred)
- Ability to source and organize supporting visuals where required
Working Style:
This is a collaborative project.
You'll prepare a draft for each chapter, after which we'll review it together, make revisions, and finalize it before moving on to the next chapter. There will be multiple rounds of feedback, so I'm looking for someone who is detail-oriented and comfortable refining edits.
The goal is to complete roughly one chapter per day, followed by a few days dedicated to revisions, polishing, music, and final finishing.
Location:
Mumbai-based editors only.
The editor will be required to work from my place during the project so we can collaborate closely, review drafts together, make revisions quickly, and maintain consistency across all seven chapters.
