What You Are Walking Into
There are 1,200 African students in India right now — skilled, English-proficient, trained, and ready to work. There are businesses across Africa, India, the Middle East, and beyond that need exactly this talent. Nobody has connected them yet.
That gap is your business to build.
You are not filling a role. You are starting a division. Every company you bring on, every market you enter, every revenue stream you create — that is yours. You decide how to approach it, who to go after, and how to make it work. No template. No manual. Just you, your judgment, and the drive to make something real happen.
This is one of those rare roles where you can see the direct line between what you do and what it creates — revenue for Edoofa, income for students, and a talent market that did not exist before you built it. That is the kind of work most people spend their entire careers looking for.
If you are the kind of person who finds a way into any room, makes any conversation go somewhere, and does not stop until there is a result — this is your moment.
What You Will Own
1. Acquisition
- Identify and approach companies across active markets who need the talent Edoofa produces
- Build employer relationships from cold — through communities, networks, events, and direct outreach
- Every conversation is a potential deal in any form — internship, project, job, or partnership
- Report weekly to the Director on active conversations and progress
2. Pipeline Nurturing
- Own every employer relationship from first conversation to signed engagement
- Follow up consistently — you are the kind of person who does not let a conversation die
- Build the standard employer brief — role, skills needed, stipend range, duration — and use it for every company
3. Closure
- Convert nurtured conversations into signed engagements — internship briefs, project mandates, job placements, or Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs)
- Move every qualified conversation to a decision — you do not let deals sit in limbo
- A closed deal is not the end — it is the beginning of the next conversation
4. Client Retention
- Stay close to every active employer throughout their engagement — not to manage the work, but to hold the relationship
- Initiate the next conversation before the current one ends
- Turn first-time partners into long-term institutional relationships
5. Diverse Partnerships
- Every employer engagement can take multiple forms — internships, paid projects, full-time jobs, or Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs)
- Read every employer and match them to the right partnership format
- Build Edoofa's presence in professional networks, diaspora communities, and chambers of commerce across every active market
- Organise employer-facing webinars — you manage everything, Director speaks
6. Market Expansion
- Start with the markets closest to our students — prove the model, build conviction
- Propose new markets to Director one at a time — execute only after approval
- Every market you enter is yours to own
7. Intelligence
- Capture what every employer needs within 48 hours of closing — share with Program Manager immediately so curriculum stays relevant
- Deliver a regular market insight report — what companies are hiring for, what skills are in demand, what is changing
What We Are Looking For
| Must have | Will not work |
| 3-5 years with a proven sales revenue track record — numbers you can show, deals you can talk about | Needs a warm lead or an existing system to operate |
| Entrepreneurial instinct — you have built something, sold something, or created something from nothing | Account manager mindset — you maintain but do not build |
| Makes any conversation go somewhere — you do not leave without a next step | Needs daily direction to stay active |
| Comfortable with ambiguity, rejection, and starting from zero | Measures success by activity not outcomes |
| Strong communicator across cultures — you can adapt your approach to any market | Cannot point to revenue they have personally generated |
| Self-directed — you set your own agenda and hold yourself to it | |
| Hunger and network over geography | |
Why This Role Is Worth It
Edoofa has 6,500 alumni across Africa and a growing student base across India. Nobody has ever built a commercial employer function for this talent pool. You will be the first.
Many of Edoofa's early employees grew into dukaandaars themselves — taking full ownership of their functions, scaling new verticals, and proving that Edoofa is not just a workplace but a launchpad for builders.
The employer network you build becomes one of Edoofa's most valuable assets as it scales from 10 to 100 crore. That network has your name on it.
