This is a full-time, on-site role for a Team Lead - Engineering at Edmingle, located in Bengaluru. The Team Lead will own both the technical direction and people management of an engineering team — staying hands-on with a significant share of development themselves, while driving architecture decisions, code quality, and the growth of their direct reports. They will work closely with Product, Design, and cross-functional engineering teams to ship high-quality, scalable features on our live SaaS platform.
You Should Apply If You
- Have 5+ years of experience in software development, with 2+ years leading a team of engineers as direct reports
- Are comfortable owning a significant chunk of hands-on development yourself, not just reviewing/delegating
- Have strong hands-on experience across our stack: MongoDB, MySQL, Node.js, Websockets, ReactJS/NextJS and PHP
- Are comfortable using AI coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or similar to boost personal and team productivity
- Love solving complex data, scalability, and system design problems
- Have experience with AWS or a similar cloud platform, and setting up security/infra best practices
- Have prior experience with performance reviews, appraisals, and career growth conversations for reportees
- Can break down ambiguous requirements into clear technical plans and delegate effectively
- Have experience working on complex analytics dashboards or high-scale SaaS products
- Love working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced startup environment
Responsibilities
Technical delivery (hands-on)
- Personally own and ship a meaningful share of development work — features, modules, and critical fixes
- Own architecture and design decisions for your team's modules, balancing scalability, performance, and maintainability
- Conduct code reviews and enforce clean code, SOLID principles, and engineering best practices
- Monitor production health (uptime, performance, error rates) and drive resolution of critical issues
- Set up and enforce security protocols and infrastructure best practices for the team
Team ownership (people management)
- Manage a team of engineers as direct reports — including 1:1s, performance reviews, and appraisals
- Mentor and grow engineers through regular feedback, pairing, and technical guidance
- Break down epics into well-scoped tasks and manage sprint planning/execution with the team
- Own hiring and onboarding for open roles on the team
- Report progress, risks, and blockers to engineering leadership
