Summary
Drives editorial quality across the business by helping to improve analyst writing, delivering coaching and training, and setting standards to enable clear, consistent and high-impact client communication. Manages Assistant Editor.
Across our team’s four pillars
- Editing and judgement
- Improve complex, high-profile and strategically important reports and client deliverables
- Diagnose root causes of writing issues (logic, structure, clarity, language barriers), identify trends across teams and recommend targeted training, resources or interventions
- Apply strong editorial judgement to improve readability, coherence and client impact
- Training and coaching
- Deliver training sessions and develop practical learning materials and resources
- Coach analysts to strengthen their writing and communication skills, particularly senior analysts and English language improvers (ELIs)
- Conduct targeted 121 coaching to support analyst development, improve confidence and reduce managerial workload
- Collaboration and leadership
- Build credibility with senior stakeholders, collaborate across functions and advise teams on improving communication and editorial quality
- Manage and mentor the Assistant Editor, setting expectations, supporting development and delegating work effectively
- Contribute ideas to improve editorial processes, workflows and team efficiency, including the responsible use of AI tools
- Standards and governance
- Demonstrate leadership in editorial standards, judgement and best practice, interpreting style guidance flexibly to maintain clarity, consistency and readability
- Manage and evolve the style guide in collaboration with the VP, supporting consistency across teams while adapting guidance where needed
- Support responsible use of AI by helping analysts understand best practices, limitations and editorial risks, and by identifying quality, accuracy or originality concerns where relevant
