● Consultant / Freelance | 🌍 Remote

We’re hiring a Product Compliance Consultant with deep expertise in US and Canadian regulations and hands-on experience across a wide range of consumer products, such as textiles, toys, electronics, home goods, and more.

You’ll work with fast-growing brands in the US, Canada, and the UK, providing end-to-end compliance support in close collaboration with a dedicated Compliance Coordinator. If you enjoy solving regulatory puzzles, and like working with ambitious clients in a remote-first setup, this role is for you.

You’ll advise across product categories including (but not limited to):

• General Product Safety (CPSA, CCPSA)
• Consumer Electronics (FCC, UL, ISED Canada)
• Toys & Kids’ Products (CPSIA, ASTM F963)
• Apparel & Textiles (Textile labeling, 16 CFR Part 1610 – Flammability)
• PPE (NIOSH, ANSI, CSA standards)
• Food Contact Materials (FDA, Prop 65)
• Home Goods (California TB117-2013, Prop 65)
• Stationery & Craft Supplies (ASTM D4236, LHAMA)

…and other general consumer merchandise.

## 🛠️ YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Product Compliance Consultant, you’ll help our clients ensure their products meet regulatory requirements. Your work will include:

🔍 Compliance Research

Identify applicable regulations and standards for a given product category across US and Canadian jurisdictions (e.g. CPSC, FDA, FCC, etc.).

🏷️ Label & Manual Review

Review product labeling and user manuals to ensure they meet all relevant compliance requirements.

📂 Technical Documentation Review

Assess existing documentation (e.g. test reports, GCCs, SDSs) for completeness and compliance. Provide clear feedback and identify any gaps.

🧪 Testing Plans & Compliance Recommendations

Develop practical testing strategies and provide actionable compliance advice tailored to the product and business context.

• EXPERIENCED COMPLIANCE PROFESSIONAL: 5+ years of hands-on product compliance experience with deep knowledge of US and Canadian regulations across a wide range of consumer goods.
• RESOURCEFUL & RESEARCH-DRIVEN: Comfortable diving into new product types, unfamiliar standards, or niche regulatory questions with speed and confidence.
• CLIENT-SMART: You understand the commercial context and give advice that balances compliance with business practicality.
• CLEAR COMMUNICATOR: You write clearly, structure your deliverables well, and can explain complex compliance matters in plain English—verbally and in writing.
• METICULOUS BY DEFAULT: You naturally notice the small details others miss and hold yourself to a high standard of accuracy.
• REMOTE-READY: You have a reliable, professional setup for remote work and are available for video calls during working hours.

## ☕ LOGISTICS

This is a fully remote, freelance role (10–25 hours per week). You’ll work mostly asynchronously and independently, with the flexibility to structure your day.

However, we expect:

• Timely communication during your regular working hours
• Availability for occasional video calls
