Job Type: Full Time (40 hrs/week)
Preferred Location:
Fully remote with the ability to work a three to four-hour overlap with the Eastern Standard Time Zone.
What’s going on?
We’re expanding our strategy and content group and are looking for a Mid to Senior-Level Digital Copywriter to add to the growing Edgar Allan team.
Things we’re looking for (requirements):
- Depth. Varied experience writing messaging, marketing copy, and website copy for a variety of industries across formats (web copy, long-form, advertising, email).
- Client-facing experience with entities large and small.
- Style and ingenuity. We need someone who can connect with people (audiences) in our clients’ brand tones and not exclusively use words that don’t sound like marketing-speak.
- Strategic thinking. The ability to connect copy to business goals and audience needs. If you’ve created verbal brand strategy or messaging and can show that work, bonus points. Let’s see it.
- Autonomy and feedback skills. You can take a brief and execute with minimal oversight, self-edit and refine your work, but also take and incorporate feedback like a champ.
- Working knowledge of web execution. You’ve worked closely alongside digital designers, UX folks, strategists, and developers on multiple occasions and understand how all the puzzle pieces of a digital experience come together to make a successful site. Important: Your web writing experience is not limited to blog or social content only.
- Advanced English writing skills. If you’re not a native speaker, you’ll have held previous positions writing in English and can show a variety of examples at a high level of execution.
In this role, this person will:
- Write web copy that’s strategic and brand-aligned, audience-focused, and distinct for each of our clients. We solve new problems every project. You’ll be up for it.
- Work closely with brand strategy, user experience, research, SEO, design, and development specialists to create digital things that are complete narratives, not words alongside disconnected pictures on a screen.
- Write for many different industries, types and sizes of clients, and be able to understand their needs and different strategic viewpoints, plus shift tone and voice to meet each one’s brand requirements.
- Conduct client and SME interviews, then synthesize that information into strategic content.
- Create detailed copy decks (we use Google Sheets).
- Work from brand strategy and story documents and/or briefs to create content that resonates with our clients’ audiences
- Report to EA’s VP of Strategy, Kendra Rainey.
Why work with us?
- EA is the world's largest brand-to-Webflow-build agency and has been winner of Webflow Agency of the Year for three years running. We have a story-first perspective, super-collaborative cross-discipline process, and pretty darn high standards. You’ll be working at the forefront of a rapidly changing and expanding space with clients that range from mid-level services and technology firms to venture capital movers and shakers, enterprise goliaths, and…who knows what else by the time this goes live. We do fun, big-impact, mostly exciting stuff.
