Role Overview
PurpleChalk is looking for an enthusiastic eCommerce Trainee to support our growing portfolio of Shopify and WooCommerce brands. This role is ideal for candidates with 6 months to 1 year of experience who have a basic understanding of eCommerce operations and are keen to build a career in Shopify and online store management.
You will work alongside our web development, catalogue, and digital marketing teams, assisting with product catalogue management, store updates, website maintenance, and day-to-day eCommerce operations across multiple brands.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and update products on Shopify and WooCommerce stores.
Upload and maintain product catalogues, including:
- Product titles
- Product descriptions
- Images
- Pricing
- Variants
- SKUs
- Inventory
Organise products into collections, categories, and product types.
Manage product tags, attributes, and filters.
Perform bulk product uploads and updates using Excel or CSV files.
Ensure product information is accurate, complete, and consistently maintained.
Coordinate with content, design, and catalogue teams for product assets.
Assist with website content updates and quality checks.
Support multiple eCommerce brands with day-to-day catalogue and store management.
Learn and follow Shopify and WooCommerce best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
6 months to 1 year of experience in eCommerce operations or catalogue management.
Basic knowledge of Shopify and/or WooCommerce.
Understanding of product cataloguing and online store management.
Familiarity with product categories, collections, variants, tags, and inventory.
Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Candidates must be from Chennai or anywhere in Tamil Nadu.
Immediate joiners preferred.
