Ecommerce Architect - Ecommerce
Responsibilities
- Act as SPOC for the Architecture/Solution for end-to-end ecommerce ecosystem
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive architecture strategy for our e-commerce platform, ensuring alignment with business goals and market trends.
- Define and enforce architectural principles, guidelines, and standards that support scalable, secure, and efficient e-commerce solutions.
- Drive innovation by identifying opportunities for process improvements, automation, and the adoption of new technologies like AI, machine learning, and personalization engines
- Communicate architectural strategies and decisions to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring alignment and buy-in
- Ensure the e-commerce architecture supports high availability, performance, and scalability to meet business demands, especially during peak shopping periods
- Implement best practices for security and data privacy, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
- Create and maintain detailed architectural documentation, including system diagrams, data flow diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Establish and enforce governance processes for architectural changes, ensuring consistency and adherence to standards
- Participate in scoping, estimating efforts, etc.
- Contribute to white papers, blogs
- Contribute to Pres-Sales Activities
Required Skills
- 15+ Overall experience with 5+ experience in Architect or similar role in an e-commerce or digital commerce environment
- Experience implementing End-to End Solution in at least one project with multi-site/multi country
- In-depth knowledge of e-commerce platforms (e.g., Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Kibo, Shopify, commercetools, Adobe commerce, Custom Implementation) and related technologies. Added advantage if worked on multiple commerce platforms.
- Integration with platforms involved in ecommerce like Payments, Tax, Loyalty, Product Information Management, Content Management System, Order Management, Warehouse Management, Search Platform, Inventory Management, Integration Platforms, Analytics, ERP, PLM etc.
- Exposure web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Next.js).
- Understanding backend technologies, microservices architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and API integration.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
- Create and maintain detailed architectural documentation, including system diagrams, data flow diagrams, and technical specifications
- Very strong experience in designing medium to large enterprise applications
- Should have knowledge on messaging systems (Kafka, MQ, Rabbit MQ, JMS etc.),
- Exposure to Authentication, Authorization, SSO using JWT, OAuth, SAML is required.
- Experience in Pre-Sales - defining end to end solution architecture covering technical, deployment architectures and non-functional & performance aspects and drive proposals
- Experience in Retail - Ecommerce domain is mandatory
- Very strong implementation experience using Test Driven Development, Domain Driven Design, and clean code principles
- Should have client facing experience and having worked in matrix organization & onsite-offshore model
- Experience in using estimation techniques like (Use-case, FP, Story points).
- Experience in creating presentations, demos to customers and internal management team.
- Should have excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
