Senior Analyst - Reconciliation

Pune | Full-time (FT) | Financial Markets

The ideal candidate must possess strong communication skills, with an ability to listen and comprehend information and share it with all the key stakeholders, highlighting opportunities for improvement and concerns, if any. He/she must be able to work collaboratively with teams to execute tasks within defined timeframes while maintaining high-quality standards and superior service levels. The ability to take proactive actions and willingness to take up responsibility beyond the assigned work area is a plus.

The Senior Analyst will be responsible for managing and executing custody reconciliation processes for global financial institutions. This role involves ensuring accuracy and completeness of client asset records, investigating breaks, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in securities operations.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly custody reconciliations across multiple asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, etc.).

  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks by coordinating with custodians, brokers, and internal teams.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.

  • Prepare and review reconciliation reports for management and clients.

  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements for efficiency and risk mitigation.

  • Support audits and provide documentation as required.

  • Mentor junior analysts and assist in training new team members.

Technical and Functional Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

  • Strong understanding of financial instruments, capital market, and settlement processes.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and reconciliation tools; knowledge of SWIFT messaging is a plus.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
