POSITION: Maintenance Technician
BUILDING: All Buildings
DATE OF AVAILABILITY: April 2026
RATE OF PAY: $19.00/hour, Probationary Rate
Qualifications:
1. Journeyman Plumber License preferred
2. Second Class Boiler License preferred
3. Must possess the technical skill to perform boiler burner adjustments based on flue-gas analysis
4. Must have technical training in flame safeguard program controls
5. Certification in pneumatic controls and the technical ability to troubleshoot a pneumatic system preferred
6. Must possess the technical ability to troubleshoot and maintain a constant volume and variable air volume
(VAV) air system
7. Must have training and certification in DDC (direct digital controls)
8. Must have above-average skills in electrical maintenance and basic electrical knowledge
9. Must have a professional attitude and a good record for maintaining positive interpersonal relations
10. Must possess acceptable personal characteristics: integrity, good moral character, judgment, human relations,
attendance and appearance
11. Must demonstrate organizational skills and record-keeping ability
12. Must have the ability and aptitude for teaching and passing on maintenance skills to other school employees
13. Must have demonstrated proficiency in welding
14. Must possess a working knowledge of safety and sanitary standards
Duties:
1. Provide general maintenance services on a district-wide basis
2. Assist in developing a preventative maintenance program on a district-wide basis
3. Conduct tests on boiler safety devices as required by Michigan Boiler Law and in accordance with ASME
code CSD-1, 1992 edition
4. Must be available for call-in on emergency basis when needed
5. Cleans and maintains his/her assigned vehicle on a regular basis
6. All other duties as assigned by your supervisor
