About the role

Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN) is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Network Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our complex network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and monitor the daily operations of the organization's local and wide area networks, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems. - Implement and maintain network security measures, including access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. - Analyze network traffic and performance data to identify and resolve issues, optimize network efficiency, and implement proactive measures to prevent future problems. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network components with other IT systems and applications. - Provide technical support and training to end-users, as well as participate in project planning and implementation. - Stay up-to-date with the latest networking technologies, trends, and best practices, and implement appropriate solutions to enhance the network infrastructure. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. - Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior network administration role, preferably in a healthcare or enterprise environment. - Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems. - Strong understanding of network protocols, security principles, and best practices. - Proficient in network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization tools and techniques. - Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. - Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, or CISSP are preferred.
