• Performs a variety of warehousing duties which require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.
• Key duties include: verifies materials (or merchandise) are accurately filled by comparing items against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages; stores supply and equipment items, ensures that shipments are properly packaged, identifies with shipping information, and loads into transporting vehicles, and prepares and keeps records of goods shipped, e.g., manifests, bill of lading; routes materials to prescribed storage locations; stores, stacks, or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods; rearranges and takes inventory of stored materials; examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage.
• Performs customer support services.
• Understands material management instructions, manuals, etc. for the storage and distribution practices, material handling, storage, property pull, shelf life management and physical security of assets.
• May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
• Operates equipment including machines that weigh, band, staple, tape, and seal. Operates woodworking equipment and interprets Special Packing Instructions (SPI) as pertained to packaging requirements.
• Ensures the accuracy of the appropriate material management information technology (IT) system records under their control.
• May compile reports for annex and fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• May be required to operate forklifts as needed.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a minimum of one (1) year related experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
• Must have experience in forklift operations.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must have a current drivers license
• Must be proficient with current technical and Microsoft programs
