Role Overview

  • Location: Remote 
  • Schedule: 1st Shift (8a-5p CST); Monday through Friday
  • Pay Rate: $95k-$105k (annually)

Your Mission as Supervisor, Accounting

As the Supervisor, Accounting, you will oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations while performing core accounting functions, including month‑end close, journal entries, and reconciliations. You’ll review team deliverables for accuracy and timeliness, support audits and tax compliance, and partner closely with finance leadership to improve processes and internal controls.

Leadership & Oversight

  • Provide day‑to‑day oversight, coaching, and development of accounting staff
  • Support team prioritization and performance in a high‑volume environment
  • Reinforce consistency, accuracy, and adherence to established accounting processes

Accounting Operations

  • Maintain the monthly close calendar and checklist to ensure timely close
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of daily accounting transactions
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial activity for accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain working knowledge of the company’s ERP system and support system processes

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and department‑level reporting
  • Analyze financial results and support FP&A with variance analysis and explanations
  • Ensure accurate and timely annual 1099 reporting
  • Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies

Audit, Tax & Compliance

  • Support third‑party tax preparers and respond to audit and tax inquiries
  • Coordinate and assist with annual audits, including financial, 401(k), bank, and insurance audits
  • Work directly with external auditors to provide documentation and support

Process Improvement & Collaboration

  • Research new GAAP guidance and assist with implementation
  • Document and maintain accounting processes for scalability and consistency
  • Identify and drive opportunities for process improvements and standardization
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to support financial operations and business needs
  • Support the Senior Director of Finance and CFO with reporting and special projects

What You Bring to the Team

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business
  • 4–6 years of accounting experience
  • 1+ year of people management experience
  • Experience supporting process improvements or system implementations

Preferred:

  • Experience in a Professional Services or Managed Services environment
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
  • Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics SL, SAP, Oracle, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Proven discretion in handling sensitive financial information
