About the role

Join DRT Aerospace, a leader in precision machining for the aerospace industry. Our Rochester facility produces complex, tight-tolerance components that support critical flight programs.

We’re hiring a Manufacturing Supervisor 2nd Shift who can lead from the floor—keeping production moving, solving problems fast, and ensuring top-tier quality every shift. This role leads by example through technical expertise, clear communication, and strong floor presence.


Location: Rochester, NY

Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM (2nd Shift)

Key Responsibilities

  • Production & Technical Leadership

    • Lead and support second shift CNC machinists in daily production activities

    • Set up and operate CNC lathe and milling machines as needed

    • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues in real time

  • Quality & Compliance

    • Ensure adherence to drawings, operation sheets, and GD&T requirements

    • Perform and oversee first-piece and in-process inspections

    • Ensure accurate documentation and ERP system updates

  • Team & Communication

    • Provide hands-on leadership and support to machinists on the floor

    • Maintain shift communication logs and ensure smooth handoff to first shift

    • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Planning to resolve issues quickly

  • Production & Continuous Improvement

    • Monitor production flow and ensure schedule adherence

    • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and quality

    • Support Lean initiatives and continuous improvement efforts 

  • Other duties as assigned.


What You’ll Bring

  • Knowledge & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • 5+ years CNC machining (lathe and/or milling)

  • Multi-axis machining experience preferred

  • Prior lead or team lead experience strongly preferred

  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge

  • Experience with precision measuring tools and inspections

  • Aerospace or high-precision manufacturing experience required

  • Strong communication and leadership skills
