About the role

As the Senior Manager, Data Platform Engineering, you'll be a pivotal leader within our Data and Analytics team, responsible for advancing the data platform strategy in a global fashion retailer. This role is essential for ensuring that our Snowflake data platform operates smoothly, meets our evolving business needs, and adheres to high service standards. You will manage a team of engineers dedicated to maintaining and enhancing platform performance and scalability. Key responsibilities include: Leading the development, deployment, and maintenance of the Snowflake data platform, ensuring all platform changes meet high standards and comply with service level agreements. Managing and mentoring an engineering team that includes two Senior Data Engineers and a Data Architect. Overseeing data model design and data architecture to support scalable and efficient data solutions. Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities for platform enhancements. Setting and monitoring performance metrics for data quality, reliability, and platform efficiency. Experience and Skills Required: Overall 12+ years of experience Significant experience in data platform engineering, with proven leadership in managing teams and delivering large-scale data solutions. Advanced knowledge of Snowflake and cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Strong expertise in data modelling, data architecture, and data governance. Hands-on experience with data pipeline management and ETL processes. Nice-to-have: Experience with emerging data tools and techniques that improve platform performance. Core Competencies Strategic mindset with an ability to balance high-level planning with hands-on execution. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across technical and business teams. Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to fostering a high-performance team culture.
