About the role

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will combine data engineering expertise with a specialization in data modelling within business intelligence tools which are used to drive insights and decision-making across the organization. Reporting to the Manager, Data Engineering, you will contribute to the design and maintenance of the data infrastructure while taking ownership of the development, optimization, and maintenance of our data models within Power BI, the organization's primary BI tool. This role is integral to bridging the gap between raw data and actionable insights, ensuring stakeholders have access to accurate, timely, and meaningful analytics. As a Sr. Analytics Engineer, you will: Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure to support analytics and reporting needs. Develop and manage Power BI data models, reports, and datasets, ensuring performance is maintained Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to transform complex data into actionable insights. Optimize the performance and scalability of Power BI solutions, ensuring reliability and efficiency. Work with the data platform team to ensure BI tools integrate seamlessly with the underlying data infrastructure. Support data governance initiatives by implementing and maintaining standards for data quality and consistency within BI tools. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance reporting capabilities and improve data accessibility for business users. Stay up to date with emerging trends and best practices in business intelligence and data visualization. Must-Have Experience: 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar role. Strong expertise in maintenance of data models within Power BI Hands-on experience with data pipeline development and maintenance (ETL / ELT processes). Proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience in transforming and preparing data for analysis. Experience working with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake or Azure. Technical Skills: Solid understanding of data visualization principles and best practices. Familiarity with data modelling concepts and techniques for BI tools. Knowledge of big data frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark) is advantageous. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and DevOps practices for analytics solutions. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented mindset. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. A proactive and collaborative attitude, with a passion for driving value through data.
