Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Draughtsman role based in the Pune/Wakad. The Draughtsman will prepare detailed engineering drawings and layouts for process plants and machinery using CAD tools, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include converting design concepts into technical drawings, updating and revising drawings based on engineering feedback, and maintaining drawing documentation and records. The role involves coordinating closely with design and production teams, interpreting specifications and client requirements, and supporting the preparation of fabrication and assembly drawings. The Draughtsman may also assist in basic design calculations, bill of materials preparation, and continuous improvement of drawing practices and templates.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in technical drawing and drafting using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and strong understanding of engineering drawing standards.
- Knowledge of mechanical components, fabrication processes, and plant layout for machinery used in chemical, paint, pharmaceutical, or related industries.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs, and convert them into clear, workable drawings.
- Attention to detail in dimensioning, tolerances, and material specifications, with strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with design, production, and project teams.
- Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field; prior experience as a Draughtsman in industrial or process equipment manufacturing is an advantage.
- Familiarity with safety standards and manufacturing practices, and readiness to work on-site in the Pune/Wakad Pimpri-Chinchwad area.
