Role Description The Draftsman role at A-1 Fence Products is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and layouts for fencing products and projects using Solidworks software and other drafting tools. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting design inputs and specifications, creating fabrication and installation drawings, updating drawings based on feedback, and ensuring compliance with company standards and relevant codes. The role involves collaborating with design, production, and project teams to clarify requirements, resolve technical issues, and support accurate manufacturing and installation. The Draftsman also maintains organized drawing records and contributes to continuous improvement of drafting processes and templates.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software Solidworks and technical drafting tools, with the ability to produce clear, accurate engineering drawings.
- Solid understanding of mechanical or civil engineering drawing principles, including dimensions, tolerances, materials, and fabrication/installation details.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, engineering documents, and site plans, and translate them into practical drawings.
- Attention to detail, quality-focused approach, and strong organizational skills for managing multiple drawings and revisions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with design, production, and project teams.
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, or fencing industries is an advantage, especially with steel structures or fencing systems.
- Ability to work on-site in Mumbai and adapt to project timelines and production schedules.
