We are a leading manufacturer of rolling mill machinery, offering complete turnkey solutions to steel plants across India and globally. With a strong focus on engineering excellence, we are expanding our design and documentation team to enhance precision and efficiency across all projects and improve cross department coordination.
We are currently seeking a Draftsman with a specialization in creating detailed and structured Bills of Materials (BOMs) and interpreting complex mechanical assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed technical drawings for machinery components, assemblies, and fabrication structures using AutoCAD / SolidWorks / Inventor.
- Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs) aligned with project requirements and engineering drawings.
- Coordinate closely with design engineers and production teams to extract required data for BOM creation and validation.
- Ensure BOMs are structured correctly for ERP input and procurement purposes (materials, quantities, specifications, part numbers).
- Track and update revisions of BOMs as per design modifications and project feedback.
- Maintain drawing documentation records and version control for future reference and quality assurance.
- Work collaboratively with the procurement and planning departments to support costing, material planning, and vendor communication.
- Review drawings and models to identify errors, missing parts, or inconsistencies in the BOMs.
Candidate Requirements:
Education:
- Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Drafting / Mechanical Engineering
- CAD certification is preferred
Experience:
- 2–5 years experience in heavy machinery, steel fabrication, or plant equipment drafting
- Strong expertise in preparing BOMs from engineering drawings
- Familiarity with mechanical components like bearings, shafts, gearboxes, fabricated assemblies, and fasteners
Software Skills:
- Proficient in AutoCAD (2D drafting a must); knowledge of SolidWorks or Inventor is a plus
- Experience working with ERP-integrated BOM formats (Excel, Tally ERP, etc.)
Other Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work methodically
- Good communication and team collaboration skills
- Ability to work with tight timelines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
